You are invited to our first Creative Writing event of the year, when three writers associated with the Department of English – Claire Battershill, A.F. Harrald and Morag Joss -will read from their work.

Claire Battershill won the 2008 CBC Literary Award for Short Fiction for the title story from her debut collection, Circus (2014) and was recently named the co-winner of the 2013 Canadian Authors Association’s Emerging Writer Award.
A.F. Harrold is a poet and performer and currently Creative Writing Fellow in the Department of English. His third novel for Children, Fizzlebert Stump: The Boy Who Cried Fish is due from Bloomsbury this month. His most recent book of poems is The Point of Inconvenience.
Morag Joss is the Royal Literary Fellow in the Department of English. She has published eight novels, including Funeral Music, Half Broken Things, The Night Following and, most recently, Our Picnics in the Sun (2013). She has also written for television.
