History was made at the TSBE Centre this week when the first ever Engineering Doctorate thesis was submitted by Marek Kubik. His thesis entitled “The impact of high levels of renewable generation on conventional fossil fuel based electricity markets” will be examined by viva voce during the summer. It is the culmination of four years study sponsored by global energy giant AES and supervised by Dr. Phil Coker and Prof. Janet Barlow at the University.
Centre Manager Jenny Berger said “I am really excited to share in this historic occasion. It’s been really rewarding to have followed the researchers progress from the start of the Centre in September 2009 to this successful conclusion and we wish Marek good luck in his viva. I am looking forward to a busy few months as the nine additional researchers in the cohort are also on target to submit in the next few months all within the agreed timescales”
