Second year PhD student Damian Gonzalez-Salzberg was awarded the Diploma in International and Comparative Human Rights Law of the International Institute of Human Rights. The Institute is an International centre for teaching and research in human rights law founded by René Cassin in 1969 and it holds an annual study session on international protection of human rights. The Diploma is annually awarded within the study session to the candidate who successfully completes an examination process consisting of three subsequent stages: a written exam, the defence of a practical case, and a comprehensive oral examination. In 2013, from over thirty candidates sitting for the exams, the Diploma and the gold medal of the Institute were awarded to Damian Gonzalez-Salzberg.
