Welcome Back come 15 Oct

After a long lock-down, the Campus will re-open and so will the LRC on 15 Oct 2021.

Pre-condition:

Before you rush to the Campus please check that you have fulfill the requirements such as being fully-vaccinated. Click here for further information.

Loans:

If you have loans with the LRC, take note that automatic renewal will no longer apply. Please ensure you return the books or renew them on-line. If you need assistance please contact us at lrc@reading.edu.my

SOPs:

For the safety and comfort of everyone please ensure you comply with the University guidelines on social distancing, hygiene and wearing a mask properly. You are also required to use earphones if you are attending virtual classes to minimise distractions on other LRC users.

Summon upgrade 29 to 30 May

Summon will be undertaking some updates that will result in system downtime for up to 24 hours from 09:00 Saturday 29 May to 09:00 Sunday 30 May.

This means that Summon will be available for searching, but some of the links may be unavailable.

If you have been planning to use Summon for research the weekend of the 29- 30 May, we would recommend downloading any articles or chapters you will need from Summon before the outage, so that your studies are not impacted.

 

 

MCO 3.0 and due dates

Please note that all loans due within the MCO 3.0 period until 7 Jun will be automatically extended to 8 Jun.

Trial access to Nexis Uni

Nexis Uni brings togethers print and online journals, television and radio broadcasts, newswires and blogs. As well the archives of local, regional, national and international newspapers. The search engine also brings together a unique collection of legal and business sources, including information on federal and states cases and statutes including U.S Supreme Court decisions since 1790, and data on more than 80 million U.S. and international companies.

Email notifications

If you have not been receiving email notifications such as Pre-Overdue Notice, Overdue Notice and Bills for your loans, please check your Junk Email box. It might be possible the e-mail system suspect such emails from the LRC is a spam mail.

Alternatively, you may check for due dates via your LRC accounts in Enterprise.

 

Bye-bye 2020

As the term is coming to an end, it is time for you to put your books away and take a break. Although the campus is closed to students, you may return your book loans by post to:

Studying at home

As you continue to study online off campus, please note that if you have any loans due from 2 Nov it will be automatically renewed. You can also check your account or renew any loans on your own via Enterprise. Even though the LRC is closed you can get in touch with us through email lrc@reading.edu.my

For any outstanding debts please check with the counter staff before payment when you are allowed back to the campus.

 

 

Book loan due dates

In view that all students will be learning from home for the next 2 weeks, all book loans with due dates within this period will be automatically pushed to

27 Oct (Tuesday).

Attending Virtual Classes

If you are attending virtual classes in the LRC using your media devices (e.g. smartphone, laptop) or PCs in the LRC, please use a listening device such as headphones, earphones or earbuds. This ensures that you are not disturbing other LRC users. Also the audio is much better compared with the device speakers.

This ruling also applies to any other audio related media such as screencasts, video streaming, audio books, etc.

Always remember to be courteous and considerate of those around you.
