What’s been happening?

More than 350 colleagues have attended one of our Blackboard Ultra Roadshows this term. These are short sessions designed to provide an overview of an Ultra Course and provide an opportunity to ask questions::

“Thank you for the Ultra Roadshow…It was really well-pitched, helpful and brought out a number of good points that I think people can clearly see the benefit of in terms of making the switch from Blackboard Learn Original to Ultra.”

If you’ve not yet been able to attend a roadshow, we’ve added the following online sessions to run in January:

  • Friday 12th January, 13:00 – 13:30
  • Tuesday 16th January, 10:00 – 10:30
  • Monday 22nd January, 13:00 – 13:30

You can book your place on UoR Learn.

The core course template for Ultra Courses has been approved. This will help structure courses and provide a more consistent experience for staff and students.

Blackboard Organisations Thanks to everyone who got these set up.

What’s next?

CQSD TEL will be working with senior T&L staff in Schools in January to consider requirements and agree School instances of the Ultra course template.

We’ll be advertising our Ultra staff development programme and online guidance early next term. The programme is being designed to support you to move your Blackboard Course(s) from Original to Ultra and will be flexible to enable you to access it in a way that works for you. The Ultra staff development page outlines how the programme will be structured.

Useful resources

The Blackboard Ultra Project page provides links to other useful Ultra pages, including Ultra FAQs. Our Getting up and running with your Ultra Course page outlines the timeline and our four-phase approach (Discover, Plan, Build, Teach) to help you move your Blackboard Course to Ultra.
