Welcome to the Tropical Biodiversity project blog. Over the next 10 months this blog will be used to record the progress of a project to redevelop the tropical teaching glasshouse at Reading University. The aim of the project is to update the current glasshouse display by redesigning and replanting our old tropical crops collection with a plant selection more suitable to our current teaching. We will bring together students from Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Environmental Sciences, Typography and Graphic design with staff to share their ideas for making this glasshouse into a modern teaching space for tropical ecology and biodiversity awareness.
After this initial development the glasshouse will continue to be used to train our biologists in tropical biodiversity but will also provide an experimental space for students to develop web 2.0 skills and innovative approaches to delivery of science information.
