To mark International Women’s Day, we are delighted to present this annual event in memory of Edith Morley, believed to be the first woman to be awarded the title of professor in an English University. This year, this special event will feature writer, activist, podcaster and journalist, Scarlett Curtis.

Scarlett has written for The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times Style and Vogue. In 2017 Scarlett co-founded The Pink Protest; a feminist activist collective committed to helping young people take action online and IRL. To date they have been a part of campaigns that have changed two laws; a bill to help end period poverty and a bill to get FGM into the Children’s Act.

Scarlett is the curator of the Sunday Times Bestseller and National Book Award winning “Feminists Don’t Wear Pink & other lies”; a collection of essays by 52 women on what feminism means to them, published by Penguin in 2018. Her second Sunday Times Bestselling book “It’s Not Okay to Feel Blue & other lies” was published by Penguin in October 2019. Scarlett Curtis was awarded the Changemaker Award for young activists presented by Equality Now, Gucci and CHIME FOR CHANGE in November 2019.
