17 May marks the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), a date used worldwide to celebrate and show support for LGBTQ+ communities and to stimulate interest in and work on LGBTQ+ rights worldwide.
You can learn more about this day and why 17 May is a particularly prominent date, and watch this great little video from Stonewall on Twitter and Instagram:
Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia or #IDAHOBIT! We’ll be lifting up the voices of some amazing LGBTQI+ activists throughout the day. To kick things off, hear about the origins of #IDAHOBIT. #LearnOnTikTok #Ad https://t.co/EO2ut0yNBq pic.twitter.com/zUrhLyfYJb

This week, to coincide with IDAHOBIT, we’re highlighting #NeverOk
The University and Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) are committed to ensuring an inclusive, supportive and respectful environment for all. As set out in our Student Charter, we believe any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination is never ok.
Our aim is to show our commitment to inclusivity and raise awareness of the types of behaviors that we do not tolerate. Research by Universities UK found that unfortunately, incidents such as harassment and hate crime do occur at universities, but students and staff are not always aware of what constitutes such an incident or how to access support.
