We hope you’re enjoying the end of term! Here is an update from RUSU about all the exciting events happening taking place that you can get involved in.
There’s always lots happening at your students’ union and the next few months are no exception! In the venue, we have all sorts of festive fun including our Christmas Bingo Lingo and Xmas End of Term Party ft. SIGMA DJ Set. And, after Christmas, there’s plenty more coming up. Keep an eye on our Eventbrite for info.
Our Cultural Show is coming up on Monday the 20th March 2023. This event will be a celebration of all our cultural societies and the diverse cultures of Reading students. We’d love to know by the end of term if you’d like to take part, whether this is having a stall during the day and/or a 10 minute showcase performance in the evening. Let us know here.
Fancy being part of helping lead your students’ union? We’re busy getting ready for the Leadership elections and you will have the opportunity to nominate yourself for a role in January. Your Students’ Union President, Sheldon, and the Full-time Officer team have been working hard to bring you a package of support to help with the current cost of living. They’re delighted that the University has also provided funding and we are working hard to increase support available for you all because surviving on a student budget at the moment is hard!
We know the quest for cheap eats can feel never-ending so, we’re delighted that our Warm Welcome breakfasts are continuing in Mojos every weekday from 8:00am – 11:30am. £1.50 will get you tea, coffee, porridge, cereals, toast & toppings (gluten-free & vegan options available). We’re also hosting low cost and free activities in that space – come find the blackboard in the students’ union for more info or ask at the Welcome Desk.
