RRDP: RCUK policies on Open Access and research data for research students funded by Research Councils

November 9, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

For first-year PhD students

As a doctoral researcher who is funded by a UK Research Council, you need to understand your responsibilities with regards to Open Access publishing and the management of your research data. The purpose of this training is to inform you of policy requirements that will apply when you publish the outputs of your research.

UK Research Councils now require that you must:

  • be aware of the Research Councils’ and University policy requirements on Open Access and research data;
  • understand what you will need to do and when in order to comply with the requirements in an appropriate and timely fashion;
  • be aware of the University and external services that you should use in order to comply with the requirements.
