Over the next few weeks, psychology students Bryony Banham, Charis Winter and Michelle James will be conducting a study, looking at the experiences of University of Reading students with Mental Health Conditions, Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g. Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADHD/ADD.)
This is where you come in, Bryony, Charis and Michelle are looking for University of Reading students that have experienced these conditions and difficulties to participate in an online survey. The findings will help to inform how the University of Reading can best support students in the future.
If you are interested in taking part, please follow the link and information below. This survey will be anonymous and take roughly 20-minutes to complete. Following the completion of the survey, you can choose to be entered into a prize draw to win a £25 amazon voucher.
Take the Survey here
If you would be happy to speak in more detail about your experiences, you can take part in a 30-minute 1:1 interview on Microsoft Teams. Please contact the relevant student researcher via email (linked below) to register your interest. Following the completion of the interview, you will receive a £10 amazon voucher for your time. Please note all information shared will remain confidential.
What will the study involve?
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to provide some background information and then directed to the survey/s which are applicable to your diagnoses or symptoms. You will be asked questions about your academic, non-academic and support experiences at university, this will take roughly 20-30 minutes. There is also an option to save and continue later. There are no right or wrong answers, we are simply looking to get an insight into your ideas and experiences.
Who can take part?
Current or former students (graduated in 2020) with symptoms or formal diagnoses of Mental Health Conditions, Specific Learning Difficulties or Autism Spectrum Disorder (including those who have not disclosed to the University or accessed support). Everyone who takes part will have a choice to be entered into a prize draw to win a £25 Amazon voucher as a thank you for your time.
Whether you decide to take part in the study or not, and any information you give, will in no way affect your university education or experiences.
