As a student, it can sometimes be a lot easier to have food delivered to your house/halls of residence, as opposed to going to the shops and getting it yourself. As the Coronavirus pandemic and Government guidelines continue, many see it as a safer option to go down the delivery route, as it really reduces the number of people you might come into contact with.

You have the option to order your shopping from the Park Market on campus, which will then be delivered to the nearest UPP room to you. This option is available to any student living in Halls of Residence. To find out more, please check out the Park Eats website.
Deliveries from Asda have a minimum spend of £40 and the delivery costs start at £1. You can get a £20 discount when you spend £50 or more on your first shop.
Co-op (there’s one on Whiteknights Campus)
To be able to get a delivery from Co-op, you need a minimum spend of £15. The delivery cost is free for all orders over £25, for any below the £25 limit, an additional fee of £3 is added. As a student, you can get 10% off at the Co-op.
Iceland have a £25 minimum spend on deliveries. Delivery costs start at £2, or you can get free next day delivery if you spend more than £35 online.
Morrisions’ minimum spend is £40. You can get a discount of £10 when you spend over £60 online during your first shop.
Students can now get next day Doorstep Delivery when you order online for £2.
The minimum spend for Sainsbury’s is £25. Delivery Costs: Starts at 50p for orders over £40, £7 for orders between £25-40 and free delivery for orders over £100 (delivered after 2pm Monday-Thursday). There are 2 options to get a “Delivery Pass” from Sainsbury’s, the details are as follows:
- Anytime Delivery Pass- entitles you to any one free delivery per day, 7 days per week when you spend £40 or more (£60 for 12 months, £35 for 6 months or £20 for 3 months)
- Midweek Delivery Pass- entitles you to any one free delivery per day on Tuesdays, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s when you spend £40 or more (£30 for 12 months, £18 for 6 months or £10 for 3 months)
You can get a discount of £18 on your first order, when you spend £60 or more
There is a minimum spend of £40 from Tesco, if your order is less than this then an additional £4 is charged. Delivery Costs from Tesco start at £2. For Tesco, there are 2 Delivery Pass options available:
- The Daily Saver Scheme – £7.99 for 1 month or £6.99 a month for 6 months
- The Midweek plans allow you to have free deliveries from Tuesday-Thursday at a price of £3.99 for one month or £3.49 for a 6 months, you can also get a free trial with it.
Waitrose have a minimum spend of £60 for their deliveries and there is no delivery cost. You can get £30 discount on your first 3 shops, which comes in the form of £10 off the first 3, however there is a minimum spend of £80 for this to apply.
The minimum spend differs from place to place, but is usually around £10-£12. Delivery cost: Starts from £1.49/depends on restaurant. Students are also offered £5 discount for new customers, and some places have student only deals.
