Because applications to the Student Support Fund are made via RISIS, this will mean applying for the fund will also be unavailable during the upgrade – however, once RISIS is available again, you will be able to make your application as normal.
How to apply?
To apply for the Student Support Fund please log into your RISIS Web Portal. Go to the “Actions” menu and then click on “Financial Support”. From this page, you will be able to read the guidance notes and click on the link “Begin/Continue application for financial support or bursary”. When you have completed your online application you will get an acknowledgement email sent to you.

The Student Financial Support team are currently unable to see students face-to-face (unless you have an urgent query) and in these circumstances, you should call the team on 0118 378 5555.
You can Book a virtual appointment Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 09:30 – 12:00.
The Student Financial Support team will be closing for the Christmas period on the 21 December at 13:00, staff will continue to assess/process Student Support Fund applications up until 21 December, but cannot guarantee payment will be made before the Christmas closure period.
