August is the month of the Powdery Mildew Summer School! Like last year, I will be travelling to Hungary, more specifically the town of Eger (140km east of the capital Budapest), for another master class on many aspects of this troublesome, yet fascinating, fungal plant disease.
It all kicks off on Monday 3rd August with introductions from each of the participants, before getting into the specifics including reviews of morphology, phylogenetics, ecology, genetics, and genomics.
I am greatly looking forward to sharing my ideas and personal development in this field with the great community of fellow researchers I have met at past events and meeting new students. I will be trying to offer some insight on a well established paper. And will be particularly eager to gain insights from world leading contributors such as the Takamatsu, Cook, Kovacs, and the event organiser Levente Kiss.
Wish me luck!
