On 9th May, the Chemistry Department Research Colloquium will be given by Professor Paul Raithby, University of Bath. His talk is entitled “Non-ambient Crystallography – a Tool for Materials Chemistry Design”. This takes place at 15.30pm in Chemistry LTG and will be preceded by refreshments in the Chemistry Foyer at 15.00pm.

range of our needs and concerns, and these depend on making
measurements – always subject to some uncertainty. Metrology is thus
fundamental to all our lives, and recent proposals to change the unit
definitions on which it depends could be a major advance for our future.
