Be informed:

Be curious:
Hear directly from those involved in the industries, sectors, and companies you’re interested in.
Be Confident:
Maximise your success with guidance and practical tips for each step of the application process.
How does the Career Discovery Feed work?
When you first access the Career Discovery Feed, if you’re not already registered to TARGETjobs, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like your feed personalised. If you select yes, you will then co-register with TARGETjobs. By doing this, your feed will feature content based on your preferences, activity, and what others with similar interests as you are viewing.
The more you engage with the Career Discovery Feed, the better it becomes at understanding your interests and highlighting content that’s relevant to you. It also showcases content trending at a university level and national level, meaning you won’t miss the latest news or hot topics.
You can save content that you find useful and access later by clicking the heart icon on each article, and you can search for other information using the search bar. As you type, it will suggest articles based on your request so you can find the most useful information.
What if I don’t want to register to TARGETjobs?
If you choose not to personalise by registering with TARGETjobs, trending content will still appear, and the search tool will be an invaluable resource. While it won’t be as tailored to your interests and activities, there will be lots of articles for you to search for and use.

Note: All students should have access to this as standard, so you don’t even need to create an account!
Step 2: If you’ve not already logged in this academic year, MJO will ask you to update your profile and set your preferences before you can proceed.
Step 3: Once you’ve logged in and set your preferences, you should see the MJO homepage with an option to click the ‘Career Discovery’ button on the top menu.
Step 4: Personalise your profile to see tailored content based on your interests and preferences (or skip this step and explore using the search tab).
If you’re having any issues accessing either MJO or the Career Discovery Feed, please contact Careers at careers@reading.ac.uk with your student number and name and we will look into this for you.
