By popular demand, we are creating the UoR Team of Pianists! The Team of Pianists is a network for all pianists at the UoR. Musicians will have the opportunity to connect with other musicians to create chamber ensembles such as piano/violin/cello trios and piano duos, as well as being connected with soloists in other instruments to create associate artist partnerships.
The Team of Pianists will take part in a series of sessions focusing on piano ensemble skills, including accompaniment and chamber playing. Along the way there may be opportunities to accompany real ensembles and work with experienced conductors, as well as taking part in the solo performance platform. Become part of a community of musicians who want to play chamber music together – being a pianist no longer means making music alone.
- No audition to join and take part.
- Open to all pianists – you choose what you are involved in.
- Some opportunities will be subject to audition.
We have put together a schedule of dates for the sessions. We have elected to run on Friday evenings as this means we can have access to the room that has two grand pianos in it for duos, however we may be able to be flexible on the dates going forward. Rehearsals will be in G01, L29, London Road Campus.
Here are the upcoming dates:
Friday 8th Oct, 18.30-20.00
Friday 29th Oct, 18.30-20.00
Friday 19th Oct, 18.30-20.30
Friday 3rd Dec, 18.30-20.30
Kindly please let Lucy, Music Programme Coordinator, know if you are planning to attend.
For the first session, I would like to invite you to come prepared with a piece of music to play for the group. This is not compulsory but the opportunity is there if you would like to play. If you have any music or ideas for duets/duos that you would like to play, please bring them along and we can match you up with a partner.
