You asked for it, we did it!
From Monday 21st October we hosted a Media, Marketing and Communications Careers Week.
Across the week, fifteen different employers over five sessions from national, local and global employers, shared what it’s like to work in advertising, journalism, marketing, publishing, and PR.
There were household names such as the BBC, Pearson Publishing and DMC – an award-winning PR Agency – attending, alongside key local employers such as Berkley Communications a leading local PR firm, national advertising firms such as Big Wolf and journalists from business journals such as BusinessInsider.

- The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) provides careers information about PR and advertises internships and graduate jobs.
- The Institute of Advertising Practitioners (IPA) also provides excellent information about the different job roles within advertising, advice on how to get in and current vacancies.
- The Publishers Association has information and advice for people wanting to break into publishing and job vacancies.
- The National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) has excellent information regarding working in journalism and the different roles available as well as accredited training courses.
- The Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) has information about multiplatform journalism training including information about training bursaries and awards.
